2007- Witness Meetings= Why can't women wear pants/trousers??
by Witness 007 inwhen my mum went to her first meeting she was dressed to perfection, she wore nice ladies dress trouser/pants.
the witness stuying with her told her it was "not apropriate" to wear this to the meeting...in 2006 i was in a congregation where a sister would put a skirt on over her pants she wore to work.
it looked weird, but the pants ban still is in force 2007.

Deaconbluez called Rutherford a jackass...Rutherford agree's! In the footnote Karl Klien tells us regarding Rutherford's humility.; "Regarding the misguided statements as to what we could expect in 1925 [armagedon} He once confessed to us at Bethel, "I made an ass of myself."
I can't believe Klien's honesty...best Governing Body interview ever!

Yknot- No privleges for you! The C.O will not be coming to your house for dinner till you start wearing dresses....My mum is so dedicated she never wore trousers again...ever! "To show respect for the Brothers."

In 1934 Karl Klien had a nervous breakdown while serving at Bethel. Why? Baptized at 12 he didn't go door to door till he was 18...while serving as a teenage Elder! Is life at Bethel that hard. Karl explains: "Rutherford...even though he REPEATEDLY had occasion to REPROVE me for breaking some rule. I remember one time when he gave me a BLUNT REPROOF. The next time he saw me, he cheerily said "Hello Karl." But, because of still feeling hurt I just muttered a greeting. He said "Karl watch out! The Devil is after you!" Embarrased I replied ;"Oh, there's nothing Brother Rutherford." But he knew better so repeated his warning, "That's all right...just watch out. The Devil is after you." {Rutherford mind games}
Were things better with President Knorr? 1950 Brother Knorr invited me..to join the Writting Department. When I told him it did not matter where I served, HE REPROVED ME saying when an added privlege of service is extended we should be eager to accept it. {take it or else} ...my attitude was due to my precarious health,{nervous breakdown} which had always been a problem...Knorr was a few months older than I was, we were like Brothers- with the older brother {Knorr} being prone to express impatients with the younger ones shortcomings."
"In 1974 I was invited to become a member of the Governing Body...I NEEDED ENCOURAGEMENT TO ACCEPT IT."
He goes on to say Fredrick Franz "encouraged" him to accept and he did. Lots of pressure at Bethel to "do the right thing."

Do you still love the Bible?
by senoj53 inas a jw i was brought up to believe the bible was the word of god, didn't contradict itself and could answer all our questions.
i loved the bible and took the words of proverbs 2 literally, where it says if you call out for undestanding and search for it you will find the very knowledge of god.
i studied the bible as jw's recomend, but found that it left me with more questions than answers and this eventually led me out of the "truth," as i discovered many contradictions in both the hebrew and the greek scriptures and instances where the apostle paul even contradicts jesus words.. in the most important event of bible history, (the death of jesus) the gospel writers can't even agree on the sequence of events and who he appeared to first after his resurrection.

little old me, once-upon-a-time a 'need greater', a pioneer, an elder's wife......now i'm 5 weeks pregnant with my boyfriend!
:) my dear ma and pa have been hiding their heads in the sand and hoping for the last few years that i would go to meetings again.. i certainly hope that they'll be able to be excited about their first 'grandbaby'.

I was relaxing after work watching T.V {we had no kids and did not plan to} My Wife walked in and gave me an ultrasound picture. "I'm pregnant." She said. I nearly fell backwards off the chair and fainted..Don't use this method EVER! {my wife didn't understand my reaction}

I arrive well dressed and with a gift of belgian choclates and a fine wine, I compliment you on your beautiful surroundings. I ask where I can get a drink. {1 Hour later} Drunk and hurling abuse at "the Damn Watchtower cult" Pointing to my head, I tell anyone who will listen "I waas brainwashed...washy, washy, scrub, scrub, up here!" I raise my hand and say:"Did you's all know {hick up} Ratherford's was a alcomaholics?....SSSHHH secret!" {hick up} {2 hours later} I pass out in the middle of the dance floor occasionally yelling: "No morrre witnessing mummy....Fredrick Franz AAAAARRR..." {snore} {Hour 3} Two people try to move me off the dance floor but give up. {Next Morning} I wake up with a coin stuck to my forehead, my shirt off, and I'm hugging my shoes...I wonder who drank all the beers surrounding me... queitly call a taxi and dissapear. I think it was a great party, I remember arriving.
